Food tasting

We have spent the day on a food tasting panel, giving our opinion, for market research purposes, on 37 different frozen food products that have either just been launched, or are just about to be.  You can see from the picture how it works: they give you a small amont of the food on a paper plate, you fill in the A4 sheet of questions giving your opinion. They show you the packaging first, then show you the product as it comes out of the oven, or fridge, before being portioned out to serve. At the end they tell you the price so you can give an opinion on value for money. They don't let you discuss each product until all the papers are handed in, but its amazing how widely opinions differ.

It was an interesting way to spend a few hours, but we didn't end up particularly full; it was a bit like a 37 course tasting menu, but the quality was way down on what you might find in a restaurant. A teaspoonful of Aldi curry followed by a tiny piece of Tesco pizza, followed by some Sainsbury's frozen Basil followed by a teaspoonful of Iceland White Chocolate gateau etc etc etc
