In March 2016 I recorded an episode of the quiz show Fifteen to One in the BBC studios in Glasgow. The host, Sandi Toksvig, chats with contestants during the show about their interests. She asked me about this blog, and a brief chat ensued. This post, in its original form, had been intended as an introduction for those whose interest was piqued sufficiently to investigate. I anticipated at least a few new viewers so wrote a welcome and included a few of my favourite images.
The programme was transmitted today, 10/08/16, on Channel 4. I was disappointed that all mention of the Importance of Cutlery had been edited out. Later during the programme, by complete coincidence, I was asked a question about fine-dining restaurants, which led to some amusement in the studio; though the question was left in, the banter was edited out.
Oh well.
So I edited the original welcome article out of existence.
